Westlife make announcement to fans

Solo music agency have just tweeted a link to this message from the boys

We wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for their kind words and support since making our announcement. Our fans continue to be the best support system we could ever hope for and we thank each and every one of you.
The support we have felt over the last couple of days gives us all strength as we look forward to our new individual paths in life and we all feel excited about the next chapters that we are embarking on. We know it doesn't make for a good story but regardless of what you might read in the papers this was wholeheartedly a united decision. Obviously there is already a huge amount of speculation as to what exactly is next for us all, but until you hear it from us it remains just that; speculation.
We are planning a fan Q+A and some interviews in the coming weeks so that we can speak directly to you all and so that you can hear our plans, straight from us. Until then, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts - we really do have the best fans in the world.

Official statement from Louis Walsh

Statement from Louis Walsh: I have been informed by An Garda Síochána that I am now no longer under investigation. I have robustly maintained from the outset that this alleged incident did not occur. While I obviously welcome today’s confirmation from the Garda that the matter has been dropped I remain outraged that this story ran in the first place in The Sun and I have instructed my libel lawyer
to vigorously pursue legal action against the paper and they will also be taking action in relation to a number of other equally serious related matters. I have no intention of letting this matter rest until I have received total and absolute vindication. This has been a hugely distressing time for me but I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues for their support and I am now just looking forward to getting back to work.

Louis Walsh cleared after accuser admits lies
today at 11:17 am

Louis Walsh has told the Irish Daily Mail that he is "overjoyed" after his sexual assault accuser today retracted his claims.

Mr Walsh told the Mail: ‘I have been informed by An Garda Síochána that I am now no longer under investigation. I have robustly maintained from the outset that this alleged incident did not occur.
‘While I obviously welcome today’s confirmation from the Garda that the matter has been dropped I remain outraged that this story ran in the first place in The Sun and I have instructed my libel lawyer to vigorously pursue legal action against the paper.
‘I have no intention of letting this matter rest until I have received total and absolute vindication. This has been a hugely distressing time for me but I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues for their support and I am now just looking forward to getting back to work.
Eoin Murphy, who spoke with the music manager and X Factor judge in an exclusive interview last weekend, broke the news this morning by tweeting his 1,000+ Twitter followers: ‘Louis Walsh completely vindicated. His accuser withdraws statement and admits lies.’
Mr Murphy had spoke with Louis and the ex-girlfriend of the accuser for two exclusives in the tabloid last weekend, where it was claimed that the unidentified man was a woman beater.
The legally-unidentified man made his complaint against the music manager and X Factor judge on to Gardaí on 9 April, saying that he had been assaulted in the Krystle nightclub on Harcourt Street, Dublin.
Following the move by some newspapers to reveal the identity of the accusers, solicitors representing the 24-year-old had sought to protect his privacy, claiming that such action had hampered the Garda investigation into the allegation and constituted a "gross violation" of his human rights.
Throughout the ordeal, Walsh has strenuously re-iterated his innocence and confirmed plans to hire a "round the clock" security detail to protect himself from future accusations. Louis’ main act, Westlife, had vowed that they will give evidence to help clear their managers name if the claim comes to trial.

Shane says Louis Walsh is innocent

Westlife singer Shane Filan has told of his encounter with the man who accused his best friend Louis Walsh of groping him in a toilet
Shane told the Sunday Mirror: “I was with Louis on the night this supposedly happened and I’m 100 per cent that he is innocent.”
He and his bandmates were with Louis at Krystle nightclub in Dublin where, he says, X Factor judge Louis’s accuser made a beeline for his table.
Shane said: “I have no doubt about Louis’s character. This is not the man I’ve known for 15 years. I didn’t see anything untoward. I’ve never seen him act inappropriately to anyone.
“Louis, me, my wife and the boys were at a table minding our own business.
“This guy came up and said he was going to be in a dance TV show. Louis wasn’t talking to the guy any more than the rest of us. I didn’t see him go off with this guy. Not to the toilets or anywhere else.”
It also emerged yesterday that Louis’s accuser was sentenced to community service after breaching an order banning him from his former partner’s home.
Louis said yesterday: “It didn’t happen so there is no case to answer. I am extremely angry that someone is trying to tarnish my name and reputation.
“My phone has not stopped ringing with messages of support. I am hoping that this matter will be resolved as quickly as possible.”

Celebrity Chef Will Cook For Superstars

Celebrity chef Paul Heathcote will cook for pop stars Westlife after they ‘bought’ him at a charity auction.
The restaurateur, who owns the Olive Press on Winckley Square, Preston and The Longridge Restaurant, put himself under the hammer as part of an auction which raised money for a number of charities.
The band’s Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne bid £6,500 to get the chef to come to their home and cook for them at some point in the coming months.
The event raised more than £200,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, day centre Beechwood Centre in Stockport and the Adopt-A-School Project, which takes chefs into underprivileged schools to teach children about healthy eating.
Mr Heathcote joked: “I have told them that I want a private jet over there if they are expecting me to go and see them in Ireland.
“They have not got in touch yet to say when they want me to go over there but I am sure they will do at some point.
“I have put myself up for auction at these kind of things before and been bought by people like the cast from Coronation Street, but never mega pop-stars like these.
“I will just go there and do it, it should be a good laugh.”
The Fashion Kicks event, organised by Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given and his wife Jane, at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s The Point conference centre at its Old Trafford stadium was attended by a number of stars including X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke.
Given’s team-mates Carlos Tevez, Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany also attended
